When our baby was six months old, we noticed he kept sliding down in the pram, and staring into the sky. As doctors, we were quickly worried that he was staring at the sky instead of learning about the world around him. We looked into the medical evidence behind the correct pram seating position and after 18 months of research, found that sitting fully upright was necessary for correct spinal development for an infant.

“After 18 months of research, we found strong evidence-based medical reasons for upright seating vs. at an incline.”

During our little one’s early years, we found few products were designed to put babies and what is core to their development at the heart of the product and so we set up Eyas to be baby-centric and do just that. We work with a curated network of paediatricians, opthalmologists and child development specialists to co-design all our products.

Ethically inspired, at the heart of Eyas is ensuring that every material we bring into the world is held to the utmost strictest of environmental standards. This includes using 100% undyed, natural jute for packaging and reusable Kraft paper bags, not requiring special compost materials. The standard we hold our products to at Eyas is to ensure we have a negligible contribution to carbon emissions.

Eyas was set up in part to support and raise awareness about the Violence against Women and Girls cause we have felt passionately about for a long time.

Almost a year into Eyas, when we had our second little one, our second product, The Gallery, was born. I was forever putting black and white sensory cards around the edge of the bassinet and was frustrated there was no such product that would clip onto the roof of the pram.

We are now on a mission to continue to close the gap in infant development by developing products deeply tailored to babies and infants

We are now on a mission to continue to close the gap in infant development by developing products deeply tailored to babies and infants themselves and designed to optimise their development.

We hope you will support our small family business.
